Sasegwu v Registrar of Labour Relations (JS750/14) [2015] ZALCJHB 187 (25 June 2015) per Molahlehi J.
On review the Labour Court upheld the refusal of the Registrar of Labour Relations to register the applicant as a trade union in terms of s 158(1)(j) of the LRA. The Register had regard to a number of factors, referred to in the judgment, including the attendance register of the meeting convened by the applicant. Although the register reveals that 570 members attended the meeting, the verification conducted by the officers of the Registrar revealed that only 22 members attended the meeting.
